Join us for a sublime performance of soulful ragas on Indian Classical Guitar by Pt. Suman Laha - a pioneer in adapting the guitar to Hindustani classical music through his custom-modified instrument designed to produce the deep, sustaining slides (meend) and intricate microtones (shrutis) essential to traditional ragas, offering a rare sonic texture that is different from sitar or sarod performances. Pt. Laha will be accompanied on table by Pandit Samar Saha - one of the world's most revered tabla legends of the Benares Gharana. His accompaniment is celebrated not just for its technical speed, but for an innate, musical expression that perfectly anticipates and dialogues with the melodic phrasing of the guitar.
The program opens with a classical vocal performance by rising talent Sri. Dhruvin Shah, with tabla accompaniment by Sri. Manav Khurana.
